Have you heard of wild hamsters before? I first saw them from the images of an Austrian wildlife photographer named Julian Rad.
He has spent the past 10 years of his life capturing photos of these rare European hamsters. This wild hamster can only be found in a few European countries.
It is clear that every free minute was used by him to capture photos of these cute hamsters.
These European hamsters, across their global range, are being classified as critically endangered species. This is a reason for its extinction. According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature, within the next 30 years, this species will become extinct from the world. There are no specific reasons, but habitat loss, pollution, changes in the climate, and trapping for fur may be some linked reasons for this drastic decline.
The photos of wildlife photographers like Julian help people to learn about many species and also raise awareness about species that are threatened.
Because of Julian’s incredible talent for capturing moments that are beautiful and unique, we are able to see these amazing pictures of wild hamsters. We must thank and honor him for his 10 years of hard work.
